Francisco Salgado — Principal Photographer
A papa to two children and husband to Kim, Francisco is a natural born story-teller, comedian and warm-hearted bear of a man. Families love the easy way he works with children and adults alike. For the last 16 years he's been making folks feel comfortable in front of his camera lens with humor and kindness.
Francisco Salgado discovered a passion for photography as a young man in Mexico. When he moved to the US he started taking classes in earnest at Lane Community College eventually transferring to the University of Oregon to study Photography and receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Immersion in the arts allowed him to dabble in drawing, ceramics, painting and sculpture. Ahhhhh....a newfound passion is discovered - SCULPTURE. With a scholarship offer in hand Francisco continued on at the University of Oregon until he had received a Masters in Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Oregon. His hard work did not go by unnoticed and upon graduating he received the prestigious Jan Zach Award for sculpture.
Around this time he also caught the eye of his soon-to-be new wife Kim Campbell in a Figure Studies sculpture class at the U of O. He helped her with casting her sculpture and a love story was set in motion. In 2011, they will be celebrating 18 years of life and love together.

His steel sculpture entitled “Artery” was selected for the permanent collection at PCC’s Rock Creek campus. Francisco’s photographs and sculptures have been exhibited internationally.
My Philosophy
Connecting with people on a personal level allows me to craft images that say something about who they are as people. I strive to get to know everyone who steps through the studio door whether it's a new Dad or four year old child. All those unique points of view give me cues on how best to create personalized portraits that express what friends and family see in their faces everyday. Essentially I take the kinds of photos I want of my own family...happy, playful and most of all loving.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Francisco
