What are Original Portraits™?
In 2007, Kim and Francisco planned to branch into three distinct product lines and realized that some new-fangled brand names were needed to distinguish one style from another. After bantering about hundreds of options they settled on the name Original Portraits™ for their unmistakeable, classic Campbell Salgado look.
All Original Portraits™ sessions take place within the comfort of our Sellwood studio. From our indoor studio to our outdoor portrait garden we sure we've got the perfect fit for your family.
A Rainbow of Options
For many years we had been recognized for our monochomatic, black and white and sepia photography. In 2005 the move to Sellwood meant a window of opportunity to experience all the hues of the color spectrum.
As the outdoor portrait garden evolved the rich stucco walls, vintage metal tiles, copper water feature, lush plantings and vivid textures excited everyone who stepped outside.
Candid and Naturally Expressive Photography
Almost everyone who comes to a planning session tell us they want to playful, spontaneous and loving moments on record. The kinds of moments that happen over and over again in the privacy of your life but often go by undocumented. At Campbell Salgado Studio you are encouraged to give a smooch, pull in the kids for a squeeze or tell a great story to get the giggles flowing. These kinds of prompts really get the positive energy flowing and lead to a memorable experience for everyone involved - including the photographers!
Signature Series vs. Light Sessions
The Original Portraits™ Signature Series represents a refined, professional experience in traditional portraiture: acclaimed photographers, rich service, and abundant choices. This includes multiple background, clothing and pose changes as well as indoor and outdoor photography. The session will produce at least 65 images for your multimedia presentation. Plus you'll receive priority Saturday scheduling.
The Original Portraits™ Light forgoes the traditional treatment of our premium offerings in favor of a moderately priced, abbreviated session. It’s simple: one background, one clothing change, a couple favorite groupings, and about 30 minutes of time. We’ll create a multimedia presentation of our 30 favorite images for you to view. Available Wednesday – Friday.
The Investment
Sometimes people ask us why is professional portrait photography 'expensive'? We think it's such a great question that it's deserving of an answer. From the first call you place to our photo studio we are committed to giving you an unparrelled chunk of our time. Planning for the session, preparing, photographing, editing, posting, reviewing, showing, ordering and framing add up to a significant amount of people hours. Having great folks by our side and a beautiful location in an urban setting are our two largest expenses. Our satisfied clientele know how much of a difference it makes having good people show you a good time.
The sitting fee for our Original Portraits™ Signature Series is $199 and a Light session is $150. Packages start at $585 (Signature Series) and $398 (Light) respectively. We've bundled a number of lovely items into our packages including photographic prints, social media images, DVD slide shows and online galleries. Custom packages can be created to suit your needs to - we are so flexible.

For families who want to be casually photographed within the comfort of their home a Vignettes™ photo session might be the perfect fit. Photographer Kim Campbell steps through your front door prepared to document all the things that make your family unique.
If you have a child between the ages of 5 - 12 years, consider an El Corazón session. Kim Campbell collaborates with your child to create a one-of-a-kind fine art image. It's truly like nothing you've ever seen.
